Geology & Geophysics
- H.J. Gruy & Associates, an internationally recognized independent engineering consultancy, wrote an August 2008 report showing the Palau Prospect to hold giant oil world-class reserve potential based up on existing science;
- The prospect area is defined by high-resolution, high-definition 2-D seismic;
- Potential reservoirs are likely thick Miocene age carbonate reefs systems;
- Geochemical analysis confirms the presences of thermogenic hydrocarbons;
- Gravity and magnetic data are suggestive of reefal bodies underlain by continental crust;
- “Amplitude Vs. Offset” gradient analysis indicates shallow gas;
- Frequency-Dependent AVO indicates deeper hydrocarbons are likely present.
